Algae Collective

Cultivates edible algae in water-fed tanks for the common kitchen and oxygen plant.

A long low greenhouse rises from a dark basalt (#34383C) pressure base in three broad sawtooth roof steps toward the back. Each step's sloping face is one big pane of greenhouse-green glass (#789B68) in a heavy pressure-aluminum (#B5BAB7) frame, glowing faintly (#A5D79D) from the tank rows inside; the steep face of each step is solid aluminum. The roof is a staircase of three glass steps, each higher than the one in front of it, so the highest roof is at the back. In LEFT and RIGHT the roof outline climbs like stairs toward the back: three sloping glass faces, each ending in a tall vertical aluminum face that steps up to the next, so the outline shows three clear vertical jumps, never one straight slope. In FRONT the three steps show as three bands, each above and behind the one before. The front end wall with the door is the low end. In LEFT the low front end is at the right and the roof climbs leftward to the highest step; in RIGHT the low front end is at the left and the roof climbs rightward.

Thick basalt end walls close both ends. One red (#C53F35) airlock door opens in the front end wall, and two tall glass inspection panes break each long side.

No sculpture: its luminous green roof, the largest green surface in the city, is its signature.

Scale: longest ground side about 2.6 city tiles, with the main entrance on the front face.
